Surgery & Healing

At Terrell Clinic, Fat Transfer procedures are performed under local anesthesia, minimizing risk and maximizing comfort. This approach allows patients to remain relaxed and even adjust positioning during the procedure when necessary.

Following treatment, mild swelling or bruising may occur. Within two weeks, swelling subsides and the new contours begin to reveal their refined shape. Most patients return to work between one day and one week, depending on the area treated and individual healing response.

During recovery, your body forms new blood vessels to nourish the transferred fat and strengthen surrounding tissue. To ensure optimal healing:

• Attend all follow-up appointments
• Avoid rubbing or applying pressure to treated areas
• Use gentle cleansing for up to two weeks
• Avoid strenuous activity for two weeks
• Wait three days before showering
• Wear your prescribed surgical garment as advised
• Sleep on the opposite side of the treated area for 2–3 weeks
