Obagi Before and After

The OBAGI Blue Peel® for Intensive Peeling and Skin Rejuvenation

The OBAGI Blue Peel® is composed of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), a substance that slowly penetrates the uppermost layers of the skin for a deep, intensive peel that reveals fresh, new cells and a brighter complexion. Similar to a more traditional chemical peel, the Blue Peel® is more intensive and can tackle more challenging issues such as hyperpigmentation and age spots.

Patients undergoing the Blue Peel® can expect to experience some swelling and redness within the first 12 hours. The peeling actually begins to show signs after the first couple of days and can last up to five days to a week.

The OBAGI Blue Peel RADIANCE® Treatment for Scarring and Dull, Uneven Skin

The main ingredient in the OBAGI Blue Peel RADIANCE® treatment is salicylic acid, which also exfoliates the skin, but is most ideal for treating more superficial skin issues like scarring, and dull, uneven textured skin.

Post treatment, patients can expect to see some redness, but this diminishes over the next couple of days (at most) and moisturizer and sunscreen can help minimize any irritation or oversensitivity.

Which OBAGI Blue Peel® is right for me?
Both peels are made to minimize and, in some cases, eliminate common skin challenges ranging from sun damage and scarring to uneven texture; however, our skincare expert will consult with you before selecting the most appropriate treatment based on your skin’s condition and your goals.

Some things to remember before a Chemical Peel:

  • You should not have taken Acutane within the past 12 months.
  • Do not use glycolic for 24 hours.
  • Do not use retinol products for 72 hours.
  • Do not use Retin-A products 5 days prior to the chemical peel or 5 days after.
  • Do not wax the area being treated 7 days prior or 7 days after the chemical peel.
  • You’ll want to avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks after.
